Constellation Schools: Eastside Arts Academy, located in the heart of the historic Slavic Village community of Cleveland, is a school that is dedicated to student achievement. Our faculty has high expectations for our students. We see every child as an individual with limitless talent. As a team, we teach each student in a variety of ways. Teachers differentiate their instruction to meet the unique needs of each and every student. Our teachers not only see the current educational goals, but see the ultimate goal of preparing our students to be productive, educated members of society, prepared for their next step in their educational careers.
Eastside Arts Academy provides Art and Music daily for all students. Beginning in the 4th grade, students are assessed by the music teacher as to what instrument they are best suited to play. As students grow and develop their talents, they progress to band, advanced band, and advanced art instruction. Students are immersed in art and music education, learning about influential artists and musician of the past and today on a daily basis through our monthly “Artist Spotlight.”
Our Response to Intervention model is an intervention approach that we use with every student at Eastside Arts Academy. This is a proactive model that continually monitors students for at-risk performance. If a student is struggling academically, they are identified immediately and given the appropriate intervention to get them on track.
Eastside Arts Academy’s teachers and faculty are dedicated to our students’ educational futures by teaching our students in a technology based school. Each student in grades 2-6 receives a laptop as part of our 1:1 laptop program. Each grade level classroom is equipped with a SMART Board and student desktops. Our Title I and Special Education classrooms are equipped with Touch Smart computer/tablet hybrids for student use which is in addition to our computer lab. Students learn critical technology skills that are expected in today’s tech savvy society.
Our curriculum is aligned with the Common Core Standards. Teachers use research based intervention programs daily in their classrooms. We have high expectations for all of the students and provide a safe, nurturing learning environment that supports creativity and discovery learning. Our class sizes do not exceed 24 students, which allows for students to be seen as the creative individuals they are. Students are able to experience a small, hometown school in a big city. We feel this is critical for a quality educational experience.
All Constellation Schools are public schools with no tuition. They are privately run, proud leaders of Ohio’s charter schools, offering a choice in education for thousands of Ohio’s families.
